Mule Days

Before the miniature horses for many years we sucessfully bred, trained and showed, miniature donkeys and Mules. We wanted to share some of our earily days photos. There's no lack of experience when we train, breed or show your horses.  We wanted to convey that in these photos and captions.

Jeanne winning Western Pleasure Championship at L.A. County Fair 1987.

A few photos of Jeanne and students on her Bishop Hall of Fame mule, Mary Ann

Jeanne and Mary Ann compete in a trail course, winning many high point championships.

Danny DeBruce on Mary Ann ponying the green 2 yr old race babies at old Lynn Bar Ranch, Norco. 1983' Drink in hand ...his favorite brew...Verners Ginger Ale! :)

A young Miss Sally Skinner, Jeannes long time student showing winning form working a trail course at local show on Mary Ann.

our little "Rosie" (16.3 H and growing) and Jeanne

Two youth students Susie Skinner on Huston (home grown mule out of a well bred Prize Host T.B. mare) and Sally Skinner on Mary Ann both girls World Champions at Bishop Mule Days many many years ago riding at the ranch.

Jeanne with one of her earily students, Quarter Horse Jockey, Ralph Seville, never sat on a mule before this photo.

Bred our mamonth Jack, Ink Spot, to this buckskin mare and walaaa buckskin baby. One day we got a call from  Eileen Brennan, Walter Brennans daughter. Remember Walter Brennan (The Real McCoys, grandpa) well he sang a song, One of these days i'm going to climb that mountain way up high in the sky. me, ole bessy and i....(something like that!) :)  Anyway Eileen told Jeanne the day she visited the ranch that Walter had never owned a mule but had always wanted one, so she bought one in memory of her dad.

Jeanne doing what she loves most....compete at the shows!

"JEANNE THE COMPETITOR!"....?

(sounds like she's joisting!)

interesting note: Jeanne has never shown in an Amature class in her life, 35 years of showing horses.
